Kyrgyzstan/Suusamyr Valley Freeride Tour 2019
The Suusamyr mountains lie in the heart of the Tian Shan mountain range in Kyrgyzstan. The valley has an elevation of 2200 meters and is surrounded by peaks up to 4500 meters. The treeless steep slopes form an excellent area for deep powder skiing and also for speedflying ….
About 1.5 to 2 meters of snow fall during the winter season. The powder snow stays light, dry and fluffy. Because of the many different runs the snow is mostly untracked.
Somewhat wider skis or longer Freeride snowboards are an advantage because the snow has a somewhat different consistency than in Europe and therefore it settles less. The ascent with snow-cats is cheaper than with the helicopter and can reach an elevation of 3000 meters. Trips on a Skidoo are available on request.
Suusamyr offers ideal terrain for ski touring. There are many possibilities to climb to the various peaks of the Tian Shan mountains and ski down in untracked deep powder.
